This wine is a brilliant ruby colour with purple edges. The nose boasts aromas of ripe strawberry and raspberry, with floral notes and subtle hints of pepper and spice. Flavours of red fruit, spice and vanilla fill the mouth, and the well-integrated tannins are balanced beautifully by an elegant freshness.

Uggiano Fagiano Chianti Riserva, Tuscany, Italy ( ABV 13.5%)

Warm, rich aromas of black cherry, dried fruits, spice and lightly balsamic notes. Richly flavoured and generous on the palate - with spicy, meaty notes balancing plum characters, fresh cherry acidity and lightly herbal characters. A well structured and integrated wine with great concentration and complexity.

Rippa Dorii Crianza, DO Ribera del Duero, Spain (ABV 14%)

Aromas of bramble fruit, vanilla, nutmeg and sweet spice. The palate is rich and complex with blueberry and blackberry fruit, ripe tannins and good length

 Les Coteaux Schisteux, AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret, France ( ABV 14.5%

An impressive, classic Séguret - about as good as Côtes du Rhône Villages gets! The nose is opulent and polished with layers of exotic spices, cigar box, cracked black pepper and streaked with vanilla. The palate is instantly appealing, polished and smooth on entry but steeped in depth and texture as the flavours swirl around, lengthen and delight. The lasting impression is satisfying - a big and opulent Grenache-driven wine with obvious oak quality, great structure, length and finish.

Baglio Gibellina, Miraggio Sicilia Riserva, DOC Sicily, Italy ( ABV 14%)

The wine presents a deep, intense ruby-red colour. Its bouquet is distinctive and pronounced, offering hints of dried fruit. On the palate, it is warm and full-bodied, with a well-balanced acidity and soft, elegant tannins that lend harmony and finesse to the finish.
