Established in 1952 by Major-General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones, Hambledon Vineyard is a small family-run vineyard on a very big mission: to create the Finest English Fizz.

Pale brass silver hues, with golden glints down the sides of the glass. Beautifully ‘cool’ Japanese nashi pear, Amalfi lemon, and whiff of beach smoke and water biscuit on the nose.

The palate is so focused, detailed and precise, with a crab apple tartness softening to a texture of white waxy petals, and a wonderful redcurrant and coxes apple fruit.

After ten minutes in the glass, the whole nose comes together and gains toasty, biscuity weight. This wine has terrific potential and will drink well in bottle for a further 5 to 10 years.
