Practising Organic and Sustainable Farming

The 2020 vintage proved to be excellent in the Loire Valley.

Although the domaine is recent, created by Pierre Jacolin just 20 years ago, the old Benedictine priory which houses the winery dates back to 1259. Pierre chose the site for its location at the 'porte du Sancerrois', the very start of the Sancerre region, on the road from the cathedral city of Bourges. Just as in Sancerre, the landscape is characterised by rolling hills, with a Centre-Loire microclimate, clay-limestone soils and vineyards planted on the fossilised oyster-beds of Kimmeridgian marl.

This wine is pale yellow in colour with silver highlights. On the nose are exotic aromas of passion fruit and coconut, with fresh orange and mandarin citrus notes and delicate hints of tarragon and spice. The palate is supple and has a pleasant fullness, enveloping the mouth beautifully. Yellow fruits and a lifted freshness linger on the finish.
